Welcome to our 20 new members! We have a lot to talk about! Our March meeting is Thurs. morning, March 2, and will start a little early, at 9 am, and will be a coffee and cookies welcome to all of our new (and returning) members. The meeting will begin at 9:30 am. Sat., March 18 will bring a new "happening" to Sewing, Etc. Our first "Learning Fest" will run from 9 am to 4 pm, and will consist of three different two-hour classes. Come for one, come for all of them! The projects will be thread catchers, scissors covers; and a flex-frame eyeglasses case. These are all beginner-level projects. If you're interested, there will be a sign-up sheet at the meeting or in the Sewing Club room after the meeting. Once you're signed up, you'll be contacted regarding necessary supplies. FUN! Our spring luncheon potluck luncheon (members only) will be on March 3 from 11 am to 2 pm in the Mykonos Room. Please contact Barbara Ott at (626) 808-7080, if you're interested in attending. Now that COVID has settled down, we are also starting up our "rideshare" service to meetings and workshops. If you are interested in attending the monthly meetings or any of the workshops and have no transportation, please call Sharon Philippe (760) 500-3086. We have a list of volunteers who will be happy to get you to and from the event. Our Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm and are always looking for excuses to practice their knitting and crocheting. They would love the opportunity to make "chemo hats" for residents or family and friends of residents. Also, on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm, and Fridays from 12 to 3 pm, several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and help to keep us in touch.
