SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MARCH 2023 11
By Daniel Mendez, Resident
On a cold and rainy day in February, six new residents completed the necessary training to become CERT Certified by the Hemet Fire
Department. They will join the other 30 CERTS who are already actively trained and ready to help out when "all hell breaks loose" during and
after a disaster.
The best way to have fewer injuries and causalities in our neighborhood is to be prepared. You will hear of the Emergency Preparedness
Advisory Committee (EPAC) offering up advice, articles, and training throughout the year so please make it a priority to attend, if you are
able. And, if for some reason you feel you are not physically capable of helping out, you are wrong. "Scribes" are needed to take notes on what
is being done, or to compile an inventory list. Having someone taking notes and keeping records would allow for someone with more physical
strength to go out and do the "search and rescue."
COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING
By Ruth Freeman, Resident
If you like to play games like cards, Rummikub, or Mexican Train
there is a group of residents that play every Monday and Wednesday
in the Clubhouse at 6 pm. We would love to have you join one or both
of the groups. Get out of your house and have a good time. Email
Ruth Freeman for details at imruthie@freemanfam.com.
