Woodchucks
By the time this is published, we hopefully will be enjoying a
beautiful spring season. At the time of writing, however, we have
endured weeks of cloudy skies, cool temps, and blessed rain. A recent
rainy day caught me by chance in and around the Clubhouse as well as
admiring the recent remodel, my attention was caught by the antique
Armoire currently showcasing Woodchuck, Papercrafting and
Silversmiths projects. It was beautifully restored by the Woodchucks
a couple of years ago. Then I saw the beautiful Juliet 'balcony' that
was re-purposed from our original Clubhouse entry doors, as well as
the framed stained glass. The oak display cabinets, poster holders,
and brochure displays — you guessed it — more work from the
Woodchucks. We all notice these accessories, but I also thought about
the many 'behind-the-scenes' Woodchuck projects that are often
not noticed: the library book rack-built and stained to match the
original decor, the stage edge lighting, the Chorale Director stage, the
restored Poker tables, the Bocce cabinets, the Golf Casa rehab project
model, the Pickleball retrievers, the Monarch Butterfly signpost. The
list goes on and on. Security window rods and wheelchair ramps are
custom-made at your request (forms at HOA Office.)
As you can see, our Club is not just about making sawdust;
camaraderie, community, and service immediately come to mind. If
you would like to join us to further our community service, please
don't hesitate. Membership forms are available at the Clubhouse
desk.
