| LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2023 | 31 This group is made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. We are led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. For more information about The Coffee Group, please contact George Vawter at (909) 253-3318 or via email hbwisenheimer1@yahoo.com. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP BON APPETIT CLUB Our March event was a big success. Everyone had a great time. APRIL FOOLS! Due to the Oakmont Rooms having new flooring installed, our March meeting was canceled. We were able to reschedule LOT 22. They will be coming to our June 2 meeting and talking about the uses of balsamic vinegar and olive oils. Ross Carter (and possibly one or two students) from Beaumont High School Culinary Program will be demonstrating easy meals for one or two people at the April 7 meeting. The May meeting will be our annual Cinco de Mayo event. Tacos and Beer will return again this year with their selection of three different types of street tacos, beans, rice, chips and salsa and a variety of sauces. More information to come. If any members have empty baskets they would like to donate we would greatly appreciate them. We have some but they are on the smaller size and we need medium to large baskets. Also, if you have any new unused items you do want and they could be used for raffle baskets, we would love to take them off your hands. Just let one of the board members know and we will come by and pick them up. Anyone wanting to join Bon Appetit, can contact Bianca Ralston at kbsyiayia@aol.com and she will give you all the information. Hope to see you all Fri., April 7. ~ Pam Davidson, (951) 264-3368 April 2023 is the start of the next year of events for the Solera Sippers. The 18-member Steering Committee is looking at events that utilize the Oakmont Clubhouse as well as events that can be done out-of-doors and take advantage of the weather. Starting off our events for the next 12 months will be "Wine Bingo" on Fri., April 14. This is always a very popular and fun event with bottles of wine as prizes plus a special final prize. On May 6, our event will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo. Our membership continues to grow with several new members joining in March. Further information regarding upcoming Solera Sippers events, membership guidelines and application forms are available on the Solera Sippers web page. You can access the web page by going to the "Recreation" heading and then go to "Clubs and Groups." Wine Trivia: The term "vertical wine tasting" means tasting wines from the same vineyard or winemaker from different years. As you might imagine, it can be difficult to spot the differences.
