| LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2023 | 5 April is one of our most enjoyable times of the year. This committee will host a "Social Gathering" for all Solera residents on Wed., April 26 in the Oakmont Clubhouse. The new residents who have moved to Solera from Oct. 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023 will receive an invitation reminding them of this event. For any other new resident who did not request a Welcome book, you are welcome to attend. We do not have your contact information so we cannot send you an invitation. Please join us. You do not need a ticket or invitation to attend. It's a good time to meet other new members of our community. The event will have light refreshments and a representative from most of our 57 clubs/groups. This is a wonderful opportunity to speak to someone about an activity that you may be interested in joining. This part of the event is from 6 to 6:40 pm. From 6:45 to 7:30 pm (approximately) will be a presentation of "Living in a HOA." Whether you have lived in a HOA before or this is your first time, you will receive valuable information. Some of the topics are budget, who is responsible for what, laws we have to follow, reserves, capital improvement and operations. Those of you who moved in prior to March 31, 2023 are eligible to vote in our election. Please take a few minutes when you receive your ballot mid-April to follow the instructions and vote. Our annual meeting of the members is Wed., May 17 at 10 am. This is when the Inspector of Elections will be onsite to count the ballots and announce the outcome. Vote early so your vote gets counted. I would like to recognize the ambassadors of this committee and express appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our community: Patricia Cobb, Diane Gell, Patty Grana, Sheila Kelly, Theresa Lantz, Joanne Larson, Mary Mehlman, Becky Spalding, Sarah Tsai, and Dale Van Camp. Thank you. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee Welcome Committee SCAMMER ALERT! Please be alert it was reported that a man in a Lexus RX vehicle, California license plate 8WRM784 approaches homeowners and will say he can repair the dent on your car. He will also say he knows a few of your neighbors and he'll even wave at other homeowners as they pass while outside talking to you. He primes your car so it looks repaired and will ask for only cash, no check. He will say the job will be complete once he paints it and never returns to finish it. The same scammer has scammed homeowners at Sun Lakes as well. PLEASE BE ALERT! Report it and file a police report immediately!
