Even with Super Bowl Sunday in full force, the
last Art League meeting was a hit with a full house.
Our Mini Art Show winners are Sue Langford, who
received First Place with these very detailed lavender flowers against
a blue sky, Cole Cole in Second Place with a diversity of colors in
abstract art using splash paint, and Third Place was given to Susan
VanLoon, whose child bathing in a tub melts your
heart.
Add April 2 and May 21 to your calendar since
June and July will not have meetings. For the
April meeting, we will welcome our presenter, Joe
Oakes, who will be demonstrating his passion in
acrylic. The art medium beautifully combines the
freshness and light of watercolor with the depth
of oil paint. More resistant to cracking and faster
drying than oil paints, acrylic paint gives artists
unique options to use when painting abstract
figures, gorgeous natural scenery, or animals.
Combine this with the friendliness that Joe brings
to everyone he meets, and the result guarantees a
great time.
We truly invite everyone to visit and be part of
The Art League as membership is welcome to all.
We also encourage first-time guests and visitors as
there is no charge for this. This is our time to find or express our
talent in art of any kind. Membership is only $20 per person per
calendar year. Applications are always available in the information
rack at the Main Clubhouse.
