| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2023 | 39 On April 12, the Friendship Club presents "Legendary Ladies of the Broadway Stage," starring Valerie Perri singing songs of Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Barbara Streisand, Eydie Gorme, Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing, and more. Acclaimed singer-actress Perri debuted in 1979 as Eva Peron in the Broadway National Company of Evita, and has appeared in countless productions since then. She earned rave reviews for her performances in Ragtime, Hello Dolly, Sunset Blvd, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, Gypsy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Man of La Mancha, I Do, I Do, City of Angels, and many more. Perri's television roles include spots on Criminal Minds, ER, Another World, Brooklyn Bridge, and Who's the Boss, and in film she was in The Out of Towners, George of the Jungle, Grease, and others. She has sung with symphony orchestras across the U.S. and Europe, from Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall to the London Palladium and Frankfurt Opera House. Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Friendship Club and enjoy Vegas- style entertainment up close and personal. Membership fee is $25 per person for the year. Tickets for each show are $25 for members, and $30 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm with open seating, and the show begins at 7 pm. Come for great music, dancing, themed decorations, a full meal, and of course wonderful fellowship around the table. We meet the first Friday of each month so come join us on April 7 for a Spring Fling at the South Clubhouse. We'll enjoy a delicious ham meal and music by So Rare. Come dressed in your most springy attire. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Where else can you get a night out with a great meal and lots of dancing for just $18? A one-year membership dues is just $25. You can pay your dues by check to Carol Choisnet (box on doorstep at 610 Torrey Pines Rd). Guests are welcome one time without paying membership dues. Drop off your checks, made out to Paisano, in an envelope with your name and the friends you want to sit with to Carol Choisnet by March 31. Dog Owners Cruzin' Cronies is a Classic Car Club, but you don't need to own a classic car to join. We get together on the first Saturday of the month at 9 am either in the Multipurpose Room of the Main Clubhouse or outside under the trees at the far end of the parking lot, weather permitting. In the Multipurpose Room, we schmooze about our cars, talk about upcoming car shows and related events, and then go to breakfast.
