| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2023 | 59 Having finally canceled the Winter Tournament due to the awful weather, there is little to say in this article. It is being written at the beginning of March and you will receive Lifestyles some three plus weeks later, when we will be into the Spring Tournament. We're hoping for better weather now and hope our membership didn't let the winter fiasco scare you off. Bocce is a fun game and surely the spring weather will settle down and cooperate! If you've signed up to play, congrats! The Spring Tournament is 10 weeks long, ending with play-offs May 30 and 31. Plan on being in those play-offs. Welcome aboard and good luck. Friends of Bocce I hope everyone who went on the Yuma trip had a good time and made it back home safe and sound. I know St. Patrick's Day had to be a lot of fun. Our next adventure is slated for April 23 through April 28 at the Wine Ridge Resort in Pahrump. Of course, at the time of writing this we haven't finalized all of the activities being planned, and info about signing up should be out soon. I can tell you that we have a get-together planned for that Sunday evening when we drop anchor at the resort, so we hope everyone will be there before 5 pm to partake. We also have a golf date set up for Wed., April 26, at the Lake View Executive course. Tee time has been set for 9 am that day for 20 players. Another golf course there is the Mountain Falls golf course, should anyone want to play there. Thursday evening will be awards and dinner night at the Wine Ridge Clubhouse. Sandi and Jim Alexanian are the Trail Bosses, with Joe and Cindy Cross, Dan and Carmen Shook, and Lyn and Bob Schive on the committee for this RV Trip. Don't forget our next trip Sept. 24-29 at Golden Village Palms in Hemet. Several members have stated this is a very nice RV Resort. I know, a nice place in Hemet? Yes, there is something in Hemet worth spending time there. Here's our birthday wishes to our April birthday kids. In random order, Jim 4/19, Jim, 4/14, Don 4/17, Mel 4/8, Donna 4/12. We wish each of you the best on your birthdays. This does pose a question, why are there so many people with birthdays in every other month, but so few in April? ~ Bob Schive
