| THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2023 | 3 From the Desk of Gregg Ross By Gregg Ross, Vice President Hello, I am Gregg Ross, Vice President of the newly elected Board members of which I am one. I first want to thank everyone for placing their trust in me to help keep and move The Colony to its full potential. I was a Board liaison for three committees for my first six months: The Architectural Control Committee (ACC), the Recreation and Fitness Committee (Rec & Fitness), and the Rules and Regulations Committee (R&R). What I have discovered over my short time at these positions is foremost that these committee volunteers all deserve our thanks and respect. The ACC over time walks past each home in The Colony, the front and the back, where possible. They help to make sure our community looks great and stays that way. They review all applications for painting, window replacement, sliding door replacement, fencing, gazebos, etc. They all take their duty very seriously. Hats off to their many hours of service each month. A special thanks to Gloria Brosky and Colleen Morrison for getting me up to speed on how they operate. Sadly, I am no longer a part of this committee since being chosen as vice president. Other duties called. The R&R group is just as dedicated. They also take their duty very seriously. Rules need to be updated, added, amended. They tirelessly review or add and edit rules as directed by the Board. Their duty works hand in hand with the ACC. Speaking of committees, everyone's favorite, the Violations Committee, is the enforcement arm of those rules. Don't blame them if you get that notice! Read the rules. Know the rules. Live the rules. The Rec & Fitness group is there to be sure we all keep active and fit. They lobby for equipment upgrades, maintenance of existing equipment and maintenance of play surfaces. They also will work via the Board liaison to update rules as needed. They all love the sports they represent. Contact them if you want to get involved. We offer pickleball, tennis, bocce ball, ping pong, billiards, shuffleboard, water aerobics, paddle tennis, and a nice fitness center with stationary and free weights, treadmills, bikes, rowing machines and more. Stay fit everyone, get informed and know the rules & regs. Keep your house beautiful, and if you need an update, get that application filled out for the ACC approval. Keep The Colony beautiful.
