By Tracie Rodgers Chug-a-chug-a, choo, choo! Have we got a treat for you! This month, the Four Seasons Model Train Club presents their first festival. In my conversations with people the last few months, I have heard nothing but excitement for this event. April is also the month residents can lighten the load of documents that need to be shredded. On Sat., April 29 from 9 am to 12 pm the shred truck will be on-site for your shredding needs. Just drive up to The Lodge and we will do the rest. Just papers, not batteries or plastic. Kindly, make sure that old random shoe has been removed before dropping off. The truck is very efficient and will leave at 12 pm so don't be late! Shred day always brings the question of having a medication turn-in day. I have researched how to do this and the simple answer from the Drug Enforcement Agency is no. The good news is most pharmacies have drop-off kiosks. I know for a fact that the Rite-Aid on Devonshire and Sanderson has one and they would love for you to stop by. Electronics collection happens monthly in the city of Hemet; check the city's website for times and locations. If you are not already aware, your refuse company CR&R will pick-up a few large items each year; just call them to make the arrangements. Since spring cleaning is well under way, you might consider participating the Community Yard Sale on May 13. Applications will be available at the front desk April 3. The Social Committee has a fun event planned for Cinco de Mayo on May 6. The weather should be ideal as we Ole' our night away! Finally, we begin the Music on the Plaza series! I was not made to sit in an office all day and love this time of year when I get to mingle with all of you. This band was the very first band that was on the books when I started, and due to events beyond my control (pandemic), 2023 is the first year they are able to come back to the states to perform. Let's give B.B. & the Blues Shacks a warm welcome at the Music on the Plaza April 18! Tickets on sale April 3 at the front desk for $5 a ticket. The addition of the all the new clubs is very exciting. Creating a club is an opportunity for residents to have their interests represented within the community. Please see me or get the form from the front desk if you are interested. Don't forget to join me in celebrating 100 years of Ramona (Ramonabowl.com)! 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2023 | From Your Activities Director Come say hi to the Easter Bunny April 9, 11 am to 1 pm at the Lodge!
