12 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2023 JOSEPH M. BARLETTA My wife Sandi and I moved into this beautiful community about 5 years ago from a similar senior gated community in Sacramento. We have found that the folks here at Four Seasons are friendly and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoy the amenities and social life. In any community such as ours, the key ingredients to success are controlling finances, good quality of life, and maintenance of community amenities and homeowner property values. This is the main task of our (or any) Board of Directors. We are here to serve our community and make their lives the most pleasant and enjoyable possible. I believe planning for future enhancements to our community should always continue. Some examples are: • Reduce HOA facilities energy bills (i.e.: solar power). • More convenient access to The Lodge/Salon through the wrought iron gates. • Continue upgrading the beauty/elegance of our buildings and their surroundings. • Provide greater audio/visual/Wi-Fi capabilities in our Ballroom. We have a magnificent facility with beautiful grounds and buildings, and despite inflation, we are in an excellent financial position to keep them that way. As I have done in the past, I will always do my very best to achieve the best "bang for the buck" with our expenditures, and minimize any future dues increases that these expenses and our economy force upon us. If re-elected, I will continue to promote a common sense approach to resolve all issues that present themselves to our community. My goal is to always strive to be frugal, to satisfy my fiduciary responsibilities, and to achieve the greatest benefit for the majority while minimizing the inconvenience to the rest. SANDRA R. BUTLER-ROBERTS I have been a resident of Four Seasons since September 2015. My husband, Stan, and I enjoy living here. We appreciate the ambiance, the activities, and the friends we have made. I have been actively involved since we moved here, and several residents have suggested that I run for the Board. I believe that a resident should spend a few years getting to know the HOA - the way things work, be involved in Committees, and attend meetings - before preparing to offer their skills and time to the community by serving as a volunteer member of the Board of Directors. I have served as a committee member writing and editing on the Breeze Editorial Board for over two years; I served as Chair of the Canine Corral Council when asked to help get the Corral up and running; I have attended most Board of Directors meetings, and I have submitted proposals as well as attended several committee meetings, such as: the Finance Committee, Safety Committee, Landscape Committee, Architectural Review Committee, Community Planning and Development Committee, and Facilities Committee. In my capacity as a committee chair, I have worked closely with Management staff, as well as with Board member liaisons. I believe this spectrum of experience is important in understanding the job and the responsibilities of serving on the Board. I have also been involved in the community in various clubs and activities, such as Ping Pong Club in which I served as one of the first committee members; and I have participated in pickleball, billiards "Curly Cues," line dancing, karaoke, paddle tennis, swimming, gym, Bocce, Performing Arts productions, as well as attending Neighborhood Watch meetings and amphitheater events. My professional background was in education. I am a retired educational administrator, and served many years as a classroom teacher, a learning disabilities specialist, a mentor teacher, an elementary school principal, a district-level Director of Categorical Programs, Professional Development, English Learner Program Director, Director of Human Resources, and Director of Special Education. I have several credentials and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Thank you.
