40 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2023 Karaoke in February featured songs of the 60s. It was a lot of fun and people were really into the great song choices. We had our very own Doris Day sing Que Sera Sera with her back-up singers for her first time at karaoke (photo at right), and yes that's her real name. Karaoke is held ever third Saturday and every first Tuesday of every month. It starts at 5:30 pm in the Ballroom. See you there. ~ Dave Rohrbacker, dave.rohrbacker@icloud.com Did you know May is International Mime Month? The members of the Mime Club knew it… and we prepare for it all year. We've been perfecting the world's most famous routines including: • Trapped in a box • Pulling a rope • Walking in the wind with an umbrella • Dribbling a basketball • Applying for a home loan • Walking a dog • Wondering what's on TV • Balancing a checkbook • Opening an envelope • Trying to figure out where that smell is coming from • Tuning a piano • Listening to birds And these are just a few of our favorites. We'll be popping up all around the community every day in May to force our art residents who are trying to go about their daily routine. Be prepared… the sooner you like us and correctly identify what we're doing, the sooner we'll stop. For info, mime calling us or emailing us and we'll mime you back. Karaoke Mime Club We know that the March meeting was canceled, but there will be a meeting on Monday, April 10 at 6 pm in The Lodge Game Room. You are encouraged to attend monthly meetings. You don't have to be in the shows, all who are interested in the Club can enjoy our meetings with socializing, air-popped popcorn, and other snacks. Besides general business, Pat Wayne usually has something fun planned with audience participation. This is your opportunity to see what is planned for the year. "Name That Tune" was held on March 24 with Karen Belcher as emcee and we hope many of you attended and had fun. April 28 will be the Handbell Choir 'Pops' concert at 6 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. This is a free event. Read their article in the Breeze and look for the Activities Blast update. Many members are busy rehearsing for the upcoming May show, Remember When Rock Was Young (and so were we!). Don't miss this showcase of the great music of the 50s and 60s. Mark your calendar for an evening show on May 5 and 6, and a matinee on May 7. Come enjoy and see other residents sharing their talents. We also will be holding auditions May 21 for the Live Radio Show to be directed by Tom Wasco. More information will follow in the May bulletin. Get on the mailing list if you are not already.
