FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2023 49 Two major club events filled the last few weeks. The first one was our field trip to the San Diego Safari Park. Next was the second in-person meeting. Members showed the results learned at the first presentation on cell phone photography. The trip to the San Diego Safari Park was an excellent opportunity to get out and test our photo skills. It's a great place for photography. Members enjoyed gathering off-site and taking unique photos. We will be showcasing the images in later months. Howard Levine continued his clear-cut presentation on cell phone photography. Thank you to all that participated in the guideline challenge at the meeting in March. At our next meeting, we will be looking at photographs submitted using the five guidelines outlined at the meeting. The next class will also continue talking about editing. The app we will be discussing is Snapseed. It is a free app and is available at the app stores. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting. It will be on April 6 at 6:30 pm in the RCN. We continue our twice-a-month Work- Study Group Zoom meetings. If you have a photography question, you are welcome to join us. Contact Jacque Sneddon for meeting times and dates for the Work-Study Group. This month's cell phone photographs are examples of the impressive photos submitted at our last meeting. If you have yet to receive our emails, contact Jacque at jacquesneddon@gmail.com. She will be glad to add you to the mailing list. ~ John Baeyertz, johnbz1453@gmail.com Photography Club Seasoned Solos Last month, because of the hail, wind, rain, and snow, we rescheduled most of our monthly fun to future months. Several attended Aladdin at the Lifehouse Theater in Redlands. Everyone enjoyed the program and commented that the cast was outstanding. Dinner followed while everyone had good food and conversation. Thank you Lynette Smilac for organizing the event and ordering the tickets. We also went to the movies and watched the comedy 80 for Brady at the 2nd Street Theater and met for dinner at Applebee's. Cheesy was a theme for our next outing to Cheesewalla in Redlands, where every sandwich ingredient begins with cheese. The atmosphere was lovely with the multi-colored hanging umbrellas providing shade. Our last group fun was breakfast at Carolyn's Cafe in Redlands. Carolyn's is a favorite of the solos and we seem to go about every three months or so. The long wait for our large party on a holiday was worth it as we enjoy great food and service every time. Over the past few months, we have had new neighbors stop by our monthly meeting and we are all happy for everyone's interest! We are a fun group and enjoy each other; great friendships have developed. We hope our single neighbors will join us at our next meeting on Friday, April 7 at 6 pm at The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. Please contact our leader Joyce Olsen at (951) 850-3055 or myself at (951) 285-7112 if you have any questions or suggestions. ~ Nyla Cheely Group Photo at San Diego Safari Park - Tom Olsen, Lyle Cameron, Howard Levine, Jacque Sneddon, Warren White, Chris Rivera, and Bill Christelman Margaret Hosterman - Cactus at The Round About Cheryl Fusilier - Tea Pots
