FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2023 59 Bocce Club It's April and spring is in the air. Hopefully, the weather will start warming up so we don't have to play in the cold which has kept our turnouts low. This has definitely been a chilly winter. Bocce Ball is played at The Summit on two green courts that overlook the surrounding valley with beautiful snow-covered mountain views. The snow will probably be gone by April. We play on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 am. If you are interested in learning the game, please join us. We have a great group of players who will welcome you. If you have questions, please call or text me at (909) 747-7087 or email hanknegrete16@yahoo.com. ~ Hank Negrete The e-Bike Club is up and running – sort of. Some of us are still looking for warmer and dryer weather to pull our bikes out of the garage while others bundle up and ride anyway. We are holding a monthly ride the first Thursday of each month at 11 am. Meet at The Summit and we'll go from there. We are discussing some longer rides both around Beaumont as well as some destination rides to the beach and or in the surrounding mountains. We are open to all riders; the type and brand of your e-Bike doesn't matter. For more information or to join, please contact me at cooleyaudit@ gmail.com or call (801) 815-5302. ~ Steve Cooley e-Bike Club Our Thursday rides have continued to be somewhat sporadic this winter given all the rain (and snow!) but we've managed to squeeze in a few. Most of our rides have been to the south through the Temecula wine country; thankfully, these rides never get old. Beautiful scenery and lots of good choices to stop for breakfast or lunch always make for enjoyable time in the saddle. With all the recent rains, there are plenty of potholes out there. Hitting a deep pothole on a motorcycle can be downright dangerous so we'll be taking it a bit slower out there until work crews get those darn holes patched up. In the meantime, we are really anxious for spring time; this means perfect weather for riding, fewer potholes, and lots of destination options. After a very wet winter, we are anticipating that spring will provide us with some spectacular green scenery. We are celebrating the arrival of spring by planning our first multi-day ride for 2023. On May 7, we will be departing on a four-day run. Our first day's destination will be Kernville. On the second day, we will head for San Simeon by way of Paso Robles and Cambria. On day three, we will stay on Highway 1 as we head down the coast to Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Lompoc, Jalama Beach, and finally Solvang for the night. Day four will get us home via Ojai and Moorpark. We will ride nearly 900 miles spread out over four days… perfect. Five riders are signed up for this ride including Scott Snyder who is particularly anxious to get going on his new bike. He is now the proud owner of a brand new Indian Pursuit all dressed up in matte black. Congratulations Scott! If you ride and think you might enjoy riding with us, join us on one of our Thursday rides. It's a great way to learn what we are all about. We head out promptly at 9 am from The Lodge parking lot (weather permitting). These rides are typically 150 to 200 miles including a stop for a meal, so we are always back home by the early afternoon. Also, we aren't picky about your style of ride. Full touring rigs, cruisers, adventure bikes, sport bikes, and trikes are all welcome. ~ Jim Ayala Motorcycle Club Above: Just getting back from a Thursday ride.
