By eresa Rossetti, Resident No more recipes, no more explanations, just recommendations of some places we enjoy, and you might like to try for some good Italian food. No chain places, you probably already know which ones you like, these are all small family-owned places. Closest to us, Rodolfo's on Florida near Yale St. This was the first Italian place we tried when we moved here. I liked it then, I still do. We ate there recently, and I can highly recommend the Marinara Sauce (remember, I'm picky about that), their Eggplant Parmigiana and especially their pasta with olive oil and garlic. I added shrimp and was quite happy that I did. On Tuesdays they offer "all you can eat spaghetti," so if that's your thing give them a try. Venturing out of our town, Giovanni's in Menifee is a good solid pizza/pasta joint. They have a nice range of lunch specials at reasonable prices. I'll forgive them for offering a pizza with that fruit from Hawaii on it. Moving further south, if you want "fancy" Italian, you can't beat Anthony's for traditional Italian dishes in an elegant setting. Clare Mendez wrote a review on this restaurant a few months ago. Located on Washington Ave in Murrieta in an area that is becoming quite the place for restaurants, new and old. If you're more in the mood for laid-back, A. Carini's on Madison is my suggestion. Aside from their pizza, their pastas and sauces are top notch and if you're lucky, Papa Carini may treat you to a song! Are you at Home Goods in Temecula and hungry? Drive across the street to Gourmet Italia. A great selection of fabulous food, lovely ambiance, and they even have their own wine club. Or try Francesca's on Temecula Parkway near Temecula Valley Hospital. The food is great and varies a bit away from all the tomato sauce. The Hubs favorite is the Arancini (rice ball). They serve it with a Vodka Sauce that is to die for. As I mentioned last month, if you find yourself in Wildomar, Angelo's is the place to try. Aside from his pizza, his other selections are all delicious and he gets extra props from me for the fund raising he does for the community. I'm done with the Italian food, so who in the neighborhood wants to give some other cuisine a try? I'd love to have someone break down Mexican, Greek, Middle Eastern, Chinese, or Thai menus.
