| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2023 | 13 Library Committee May is here in all its glory! Despite the weather outside, it's always bright and cheery in the Four Seasons Library. Adding to that cheeriness is being able to help residents who are looking for a particular author to read. Recently, a resident could only find one such book on the hardcover fiction shelves, and he had already read it. I suggested that he check the paperbacks. He said he rarely read paperbacks because of the small size of the print in the books, even the larger-sized ones. Then I mentioned our Large Print section which is housed in a labeled cabinet below the paperbacks. He had no idea there was such a section. I opened the cabinet doors, pulled out the shelf, and there was at least one book by the author he was seeking. The resident was delighted and so was I! He took several books home. Please don't ever be hesitant to ask library staff for help. I am excited to share that the number of library staff has recently been increased to better serve our residents and keep the library in good shape. Please welcome Lynne Spreen, Perjeah Dhevun, Debbie Borrott, and Lynn Voorheis, our newest committee members! They have been trained on all library procedures and look forward to assisting you when you visit the library. Each member volunteer serves as their time permits. The larger committee, the more hands are available to keep our library looking its best. Our resident authors' talks are beginning again! Lynne Spreen will be speaking about her latest books and more on May 18 at 2 pm in the Ballroom. She has spoken to enthusiastic Four Seasons audiences several times before. We thank our publicist, Jeanne Lincoln, for making more information about Lynne's talk available soon. You might recognize Lynne's name as a new library committee member. All of our resident authors have donated their books to the library. Check the special shelf under the hardcover fiction books for several of our authors' pictures and books. Others' books sit on the tables. The committee has been busy reading some newly identified resident authors' books. We hope you will be seeing their books and pictures in the library and their talks scheduled in the coming months. ~ Betty Crase Perjeah Dhevun, Lynne Spreen, Lynn Voorheis, Debbie Borrott
