FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2023 9 By Cindy Graves May is going to have quite the variety of fun events starting with the fabulous Performing Arts Show Remember When Rock Was Young. This show will be Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 at 6 pm. There will be a matinee on Sunday, May 7 at 2 pm. This show is free to you; a ticket will be required to enter… so get yours at The Lodge front desk now, if you haven't already! On Friday, May 12, the fun and popular Dave Rohrbacker will be hosting a "Pure Dance Party" event in The Lodge Ballroom at 5 pm. Once again, lucky you, there is no cost of admittance. Just show up with your dancing shoes and be ready to have a blast. Feel free to bring your favorite beverages and food into the party with you. May 13 is our first big Loggia Dance Concert of the season, showcasing the wonderful band American Made. Everyone always raves about how much they enjoy this band and you will too! The Bistro will be offering a special event dinner, so keep your eyes open for more info on that. This is an HOA event, so there in no charge; however, we are requiring that you pick up a wristband at The Lodge to get in, starting on May 1. Hope you can make it! On May 19 at 6 pm, the Let's Dance group will be offering even more dancing with a Ballroom Community Dance. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy. Bring your best buddies, a little "special juice," and appetizers and you'll be on your way to a good, good time! May 20 blooms with the highly-anticipated Spring Garden Tour put on by the Garden Club. Eight homeowners will be opening their beautiful gardens for viewing from 10 am to 2 pm. Be sure to stop by The Lodge Lobby to pick up tickets for only $5 per person. Tickets will be on sale May 2 and May 4, 10 am to 12 pm as well as on the day of the event. After you finish the Garden Tour, be sure to save energy for karaoke that same night (May 20) at 5 pm. Bring a song, an encouraging spirit, and a friend to top the day off. Music always has a way of making you feel good. This karaoke night is much cheaper and more fun than therapy. You'll be glad you came. May 21 is the opening of the Amphitheater Concert series. Just wait until you hear the amazing sounds of Jimmy's Buffet (yes - it's "Buffet") … These guys have quite the sense of humor. We are encouraging residents to wear Hawaiian shirts and, as an extra treat, we will be offering margarita mixes; all you have to do is bring the cup and the tequila! You're going to love this show! Mark Lassen has done an incredible job of contracting with all show bands this season. You may set up your lawn chair any time Sunday morning. There will not be Amphitheater police in the morning this year to ensure that you are not hogging more spaces than a single chair space. We are confident our residents are incredibly courteous and thoughtful of others. On May 25, the CHP is offering a Senior Safe Driving Course in the Ballroom from 10 am to 12 noon. See The Lodge for sign-up information if you're interested. Lastly, if you have boxes of old important documents that need to be shredded, then we have the event for you on Saturday, May 27 from 11 am to 2 pm. Just follow The Lodge car line to the drive-through Shred-It truck and securely dump your boxes for disposal. This is an HOA event and there is no cost to you to participate. Have a happy May!
