Sun Lakes Follies
Last month the Sun Lakes Follies held their evening "Open Mic"
gathering at the South Clubhouse. Many members attended and
enjoyed food, camaraderie and exchanging info on the acts they'll
be doing in the upcoming show How Do You Get To Carnegie Hall?
Practice! Practice! Practice! on Sept. 29 and 30, and Oct. 1 in the
Main Clubhouse.
Jim Starkey, without hesitation, came to the mic and entertained
the group, singing e Wonder of You. Everyone enjoyed the preview,
but as we know, there's more to come. Our meetings are held every
third Thursday of the month in the South Clubhouse at 1 pm. Annual
membership dues are $10/person and $15/couple. Come by and sign
up your act, or let us know if you want to help out behind the scenes
selling tickets, etc. We would love to meet you!
President, Joanne Graham, is very appreciative of our very own
hard working member, Dorrie Gartzke, who is doing a fantastic job as
she has found a way to collect recyclables and donate that money to
the Pass Action Group to help fight the warehouse. This last month,
she was able to give the Pass Action Group a check for $1,000, her
all-time-high! Looking forward to seeing Districts and Sun Lakes
Groups display a sign with a recyclables container saying "Dorrie's
Corner" at all of their functions.
Let's help Dorrie, please bring your recyclables — plastic, glass
and/or cans — to her home at 6029 Spanish Trails Cove or call (909)
