| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2023 | 3 The campaign rhetoric of the past few months is finally over and we can now begin to appreciate and enjoy our beautiful community. Let's look forward to all the activities and planned events. We just hired a new Recreation Director, Dario Puig, who started on May 9. Some of the events and activities are as follows: • The new state-of-the-art pickleball complex will be hosting a tournament with other 55 and over communities on June 9 at 8 am as a fundraising tournament for Charity Week. A special thanks to Tony Browne for all of his efforts in coordinating this tournament. • Charity Week is June 5 through June11. This year we are bringing back the Pro Am Tournament on June 11 at 8 am. A special thanks to David Marshall Kealy and his volunteers for all their efforts in coordinating this year's Charity Week. • The Fourth of July: The golf cart parade theme this year is Let Freedom Ring. The deadline to register your cart or float is Mon., July 2. • Replacement and upgrade of our chairs in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom will be completed. • The Master Board is continuing with the planned expansion of the Lounge. Thank you for membership input at the town hall on April 19. If you are interested in volunteering for one of our Advisory Committees, please fill out the volunteer interest form which is located by the reception desk in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. We still have a few openings for the Marketing Committee. The Welcome Home Program is now being held quarterly in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. We are having many clubs and groups set up tables to provide information to new homeowners. The next Welcome Home is June 22 at 5 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If your club or group is interested in participating, please contact Jason Ewals or the new Recreation Director, Dario Puig. Remember, if you have any concerns that need to be addressed, you may contact one of the following: Master Board, District Delegate, Committee Member, or utilize the Message to Management communication process. Please do not post your complaint on a social media platform and expect it to be resolved. That usually just makes matters worse. Regrettably, some of the posts were not very credible and have been harmful to all involved. We need to be more positive, respectful, come together as a community, and enjoy our amazing lifestyle here at Sun Lakes. "e TRUTH is like the SUN. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't going away." Elvis Presley ~ Bob Walter, Randy Robbins, Beverly Simmons, Lori Hazelton, Gary Burkel From the Master Board Want to get your voice heard by the Board of Directors? GO TO THE LISTENING SESSION! They are held the first Monday of the month at 3:30 pm in the Sandwedge. Plus… there are cookies!
