| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2023 | 45 Caregiver Support Group Happy Father's Day to all the dads here in Sun Lakes! I wish all of you a wonderful day. I will be thinking of my dad and all the life lessons he taught me. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., June 15 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time to share, if you choose to, and learn. This program is open to ALL CAREGIVERS and is a free program. It is open to anyone caring for another person. Come see what we are all about. We also have a program in the Arts & Crafts Room where you can leave your loved one while you attend the meeting. We have live entertainment; this month, the Kahula Lei Lani dancers will entertain. Thank you to Tin Man's Heart who entertained last month. We play games, do Tai Chi exercises with Shelly Braatz and sometimes just visit. No one is forced to participate. Our loving staff will do whatever makes your loved one happy. Stress can cause physical problems (blurred vision, stomach irritation, high blood pressure) and changes in behavior (irritability, lack of concentration, change in appetite). Note your symptoms and discuss with a doctor, as needed. #7 ACCEPT CHANGES AS THEY OCCUR. People with Alzheimer's change over time and so do their needs. They may require care beyond what you can provide on your own. Becoming aware of community resources from home care services to residential care can make the transition easier.
