| OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2023 | 41 Our April Bingo was just wonderful. Again, we had a fantastic turnout. The Hall was set up with more tables and chairs allowing players to spread out a little more. We opened the doors at 6:15 pm which allowed players to have more time to mark their cards, purchase 50/50 tickets, daubers, and markers. The room seemed a little more relaxed. Moving forward we will attempt to open the doors a little early when we have enough volunteers to do so. Please, do not think that the door opening time has changed, because it hasn't. However, when possible, we will open a little earlier. April had one of our largest guaranteed jackpots of $500. There was one lucky winner, Patrick Quigley, who got five crisp $100 bills. Patrick is the son of resident Don Quigley. I certainly hope that Patrick will splurge and treat dad to Bingo for Father's Day on June 24. We look forward to seeing both of you again in June. Speaking of winners, Sue Patten also won. Sue is the Secretary for the Bingo Board of Directors. Way to go Sue! Thanks to our players who purchase 50/50 tickets. In May we had additional door prizes. All players had a chance to win one of three, $50 door prizes. This was our welcome to spring and sunshine. 50/50 tickets can be purchased before the doors open at the concierge desk adjacent to reception desk. Look for Lynn and Jim Bible, as they are usually selling the tickets. After the doors open, you can still purchase 50/50 tickets but they will be inside the hall near the cashier desks. 50/50 tickets, daubers, and markers are available for purchase until about 6:50 pm. After 6:50 pm, we count the money and get payouts ready for the two lucky winners. So, be sure to purchase your tickets early, don't get left out. We look forward to seeing you on June 24. I understand Bingo was usually suspended during the summer months, because of vacations and what not. Not this year! Bingo will be held in June, July and August. September will be our first afternoon game. I certainly hope we see some new players that don't come in the evenings and that our regular evening players enjoy coming in the afternoon.
