| OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2023 | 33 Happy June to the OHCC community! This marks the halfway point in our Papercrafting year! It's also the month when our newest Papercrafters, Group 5, complete their time as orientees and move on as regular Papercrafters. They've received instruction in many papercrafting techniques and have made many cards! Their craft rooms are getting stocked with more and more supplies and they're ready to move on to the other papercrafting groups, 1, 2, 3 and 4, where they'll continue to learn and grow in the artform. We congratulate the following members completing their six months of instruction in June: Gail Alfonso, Donna Bearman, Emma Chung, Nancy Combs, Kim Curl, Sharon Doyle, Jacqueline Ettinger, Jan Feintuch, Janeen Sheelen! And we recognize and thank their instructors for putting in the time, effort, and resources in making their classes so fun and informative! Rhonda Anchales and Irma Ortega have gone the extra mile to assure that those who signed up with our club in January, have learned the essentials of Papercrafting! We can't wait to welcome them to the other groups within the club. Other club news: Word has it that the Make and Take planned for July is cancelled due to low sign-up numbers. It is suggested that a later time in the calendar year may be better attended. Cricut instruction continues to be a popular trend in our Club and Karin Barnes heads up that group in addition to her regular participation in Group 1. To our members celebrating birthdays in June, congratulations on completing another 365 days on your life's journey. Your birthstone, the pearl, is known for its luminescence and beauty. Wishing you the happiest of birthdays: Terri Eckhardt, Roxy Forrester, Sandy Miller, Sharron Seidenberg, Phyllis Skall! Please enjoy these photos of some cards and papercrafting made by our members! Those interested in finding out more about the Papercrafting Club can stop by the Art Room at the following times to check out what's new, fun and being created. Group 1: Fridays 9-11 am; Group 3: Fridays 11 am-1 pm; Group 4: Wednesdays 1-3 pm; Group 5: Wednesdays, 11 am-1 pm. Group 2 is our Zoom Group. Remember to send cards to those you love this month! There's always something to celebrate, and reasons to reach out! Graduations, weddings, and birthdays, top the list for this time of year and there's also bon voyage trips, summer vacations, beach parties and backyard BBQs to celebrate as well.
