46 | OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2023 | Calorie Free Happy Hour If you are interested in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning, then you may want to consider attending an aerobics class to see if it fits your needs. This is an all standing low impact class… NO JUMPING! Christine leads each class in a warm up session followed by the aerobic session, and then she does a cool down. We use light weights for the last 10 minutes of the class. Christine sometimes adds a few exercises for balance and an easy dance for fun. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanel Hall from 10 to 11 am with instructor Christine Alesiani. You can choose the number of classes each week that you would like to attend. (There is no class available on the second Wednesday of each month.) The cost is $5 cash per class paid directly to the instructor. You can pay for and try two classes without joining the club. The annual club dues are $6 (please make the check payable to OH Aerobics). Please contact Margie Raisigel (club president) if you have any questions at (760) 855-8838 or sungee@pacbell.net. Aerobics Golf Club The Ocean Hills Golf Club General Meeting was held on Wed., April 19. A couple announcements of interest include Terry Chamberlain being introduced as the chair for the summer Italian dinner/dance on Thurs., July 13. The dinner will be catered by Nucci's and music will be Dj'd by "Music as You Like It." Volunteers for this event would be appreciated. Also upcoming is the Father's Day shot gun start scramble and lunch on Mon., June 19. The meeting concluded with Larry McBride presenting Kathleen Cannon, Cynthia Marshall, Al Goodman, Don Dudley, and Joe Galice with hole-in-one certificates. Here are some of the winners of the Guys and Dolls Tournament on Sat., April 15: the Magic Circle stars include Alan Colson, Ellen Whitson, Kathy Moskovitz, Lin Chu Lien, Liz Alderson, Paul Yoshida, Richard Quandt, and Sue Smith. Debbie Machnick and Joe Galice were the Closest to the Pin awardees. Way to go everyone! Hope the smiling faces in these photos taken that morning were still smiling after the round. Touring Amateurs took place on Mon., April 17 at Oaks North. Closest to the Pin winners were Judy Fry and Doug Wright; and Magic Circle winners were Al Lipitz, David Shaw, and Zoraya De la Bastida. Congratulations! Mark your calendars for Guys and Dolls on Sat., June 24 and Touring Amateurs the St. Mark Long Course on Monday, June 12. A busy summer of golf lies ahead.
