20 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2023 At our May meeting, our guest speaker was Fire Captain Matthew Escandel who brought along some fire trucks for our residents to see. The information presented was well received by our residents who had lots of questions for the fire personnel. Residents were especially interested in the information about the heat of summer and the risks posed during the upcoming fire season. A special thank you to Captain Matthew Escandel and the other firefighters who made the presentation interesting and informative for our residents. On May 25, the California Highway Patrol conducted a "Safe Driving for Seniors Class" in The Lodge Ballroom. This was a free admission class for our residents who wanted a review of the changes in the driving regulations. Additionally, this year the CHP officer included tips for golf carts. The residents who attended the class received certificates of completion from the CHP which may qualify our residents for discounts on their car insurance. Please check with your car insurance company to see if you qualify for a discount as a result of attending and completing the course. The weather is improving and it is lighter in the evenings so more of our residents are walking. Please walk on the sidewalks if you are not using the trails, and if you are walking at night, take a flashlight and light-colored and/or reflective clothing. This will help our resident drivers to see you when you are crossing the streets. Please slow down, stop at stop signs, and yield to vehicles in the roundabouts. The speed limit on Four Seasons Circle is 30 mph, 25 mph on residential streets, including Green Creek Trail, and 15 mph in the alleys. Thank you to our Block Captains and to all our Neighborhood Watch members for all you do to keep our community safe. ~ Jerry Monahan, (951) 212-8898 Neighborhood Watch & Community Awareness
