48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2023 Quilting Enthusiasts Winter has finally gone, and spring gave us a brief sneak peek of what became the "Super Bloom" visible from the International Space Station! What a thrill that must have been to see. Is it me, or are our members' "Show and Tell" getting better and better? Sally Peterson has been VERY busy making a number of table toppers and runners. Great patterns and fabric! Glenda Timms showed a queen size top in the "Turning 20" pattern she made for her guest room (lucky guests!). I was not familiar with that pattern and can't wait to use it! Jeri Sorenson showed two commissioned quilts. One was a t-shirt quilt she made for a retired firefighter from a number of his shirts commemorating 9-11. It was very moving. The second was a quilt made from hand-knitted sweaters. In addition to being beautiful, it was quite a technical feat because she had to stabilize the sweaters so that she could cut them without them unraveling. Additionally, there were a few items discussed at the meeting that we wanted to update you on. After the May meeting we will NOT meet again until Sept. 14. We will take June, July and August off for family vacations and summer travel. We'll remind you all of this next month and each month throughout the summer. So watch for pictures of what our ladies are working on. As always, we encourage anyone and everyone to learn, share, or just "hang out" with quilters. You are more than welcome!
