Let's start out by bringing in the month with dancing! Friday, June 2 at 6 pm is the "Disco Dancing Party and Fun" brought to you by our wonderful globe- trotters, Phil and Elizabeth Westbrook! Welcome back you two. We look forward to joining you at this no-cost event. Feel free to wear appropriate disco attire; it always makes the event so much more Jivin'… can you dig it? Then on Saturday, June 10, the Country Line Dancers will be having a party in The Lodge Ballroom with doors opening at 4:30 pm and the party starting at 5 pm. Tables are first come, first served and they want to extend an invitation to anyone in the community to come and bring their friends and relatives over 18 that might want to attend with them. See Martha Franck for more information. Calling all crafters and artisans, it's that time again for our mandatory Fall Craft Boutique meeting on Wednesday, June 14 at 6 pm in the RCN. This meeting will be to pull lottery numbers for table choices. To be in the Boutique on Sept. 30, you need to come yourself or have a representative come to pull for your tables. The price is $5 per table and if you're lucky, perhaps there will be enough tables after the first pull for some of you to get a second table. June 16 has two really fun options — we have Rob's Paint Party in the RCN from 5 to 7 pm. It's only $25 for the event with everything included (see Rob Kelman the Art Teacher for more information). The other option is to come to the second Loggia Live Band Concert, "The Bluesuasions," from 5 to 8:30 pm. This is an HOA-sponsored event so, lucky you, the entry fee has already been paid. There will be table seating and dancing, so bring your favorite beverages. I will also be collaborating with the Bistro for a special dinner offering, yet to be determined. The weather should be perfect (cross your fingers) and the company and ambiance couldn't be better! See you there; tickets are not required. Karaoke will take place on Saturday, June 17 at 5 pm. I'm not sure if you're aware, but June is the month when people who previously could not sing a note, are magically endowed with vocal abilities never before experienced. This is due to a little-known cosmic shift, which creates a gravitational pull on the vocal cords. If you know someone who typically will not sing, for fear that the sounds emanated from their voices will sound similar to the ones in January through May, let them know, that June will change everything! I dare you to come and see what I mean. This will be the best Karaoke yet! If you got super inspired by last month's Garden Tour, come on down and figure out how to improve your own garden. Our Landscaping company, Park West will be holding a workshop in The Lodge Ballroom on June 22 at 11 am. This workshop is going to cover the micro-climates in this community, what amendments would be helpful to nourish and improve your soil as well as plant recommendations for decorative and edible gardens. There will be light refreshments served and everyone will go home with a little treat. Finally, the June 25 Amphitheater concert is showcasing the talents of the band Heartache Tonight. This band is the most authentic sounding tribute to the Eagles today. The band has been singing four- and five-part harmonies together for years. This band can totally capture the vocal nuances of the Eagles. You may set up your chair for the concert anytime after The Lodge opens at 7 am on the day of the concert. The concert actually starts at 7 pm. The Bistro will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs outside for the occasion so bring a little extra cash. See you there and happy June! Mark Your Calendars!
