FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2023 23 Meet one of our newest members, Indiana Jones, "Indy" for short (at left). He is a beautiful one-year-old Labradoodle. The first few times he came to the Corral, he was not sure of the other dogs. Now he just takes off running with them and is so happy to see his new friends. And yes, if you have never owned a dog, just like kids, they develop friendships. If they meet on a morning walk, they are thrilled to see each other and get so excited. If you have a dog, consider joining so that they too can make friends and run free. The first year is $40 and you must meet shot requirements and a few other things. Pick up an application form at The Lodge front desk. We are having a morning Yappy Hour at the Corral on Saturday, June 10 from 9 to 11 am. There will be refreshments and two raffle baskets (one for your dog and an adult basket for the pet parents). Although your dog cannot come into the Corral that morning, member's dogs will be there. We want you to see how well they get along and play together. You can enter and check out the Corral. Current members will be available to answer any questions. We are always looking for new members on the Canine Corral Council which meets once a month on the first Thursday at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room for one hour. If you are interested, stop by one of our meetings and see how we work to make life better for our dogs. The weather has been crazy. One week it is so hot the dogs want to lay in the shade and the next it is almost too cool. Our regular meet times are 8 am Saturdays and Sundays and 4 pm Wednesdays. Starting in July, as the weather gets hotter, we will meet at 7 am on the weekends. ~ Martha Franck, (714) 345-8588 Canine Corral Council Social Committee Our next event on June 24 is "Motown & Las Vegas." It's a tribute to Donna Summer, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder so get your dancing shoes on. Please feel free to dress up; there will be a contest for best dressed 70s Motown or Vegas-themed costume. Tickets are on sale. Price is $25 per person (non-refundable). On June 24, doors open at 5:30 pm, show starts at 6 pm. There is no assigned seating. Bring your favorite drink. There will be a door prize and four raffle baskets so bring extra money as this is how we raise funds for future events. Right after the show, Dave will be playing music so you can dance into the night. This event will sell out so don't miss out on getting your tickets. Thank you for all the support that you give our Social Committee. ~ Loretta Ramsey, lorettaramsey@aol.com, (714) 803-6744 Finance Committee During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting, the financial statements for March 2023 were reviewed and recommended for Board approval. I encourage all residents to become more familiar with the finances of our fantastic community. We would love to hear about your concerns and encourage you to share them with us.
