Don't miss it! ~ Vivian Walker, vivr@sbcglobal.net Thank you to everyone who made the "Walk in the Garden Home Tour"on May 20 a success. A special thanks to our eight wonderful homeowners who opened their gardens to the community. On June 22 at 10 am, Park West will be hosting a free speaking event that will highlight various factors to consider to make for successful gardening here in our community such as the different microclimates, soil amendments that can make a difference, and how to create the perfect environment for veggies to thrive. Save the date: Oct. 20 is scheduled for our outside dinner party with live music. For info or to make suggestions for future topics, please contact pwayne1@outlook.com. ~ Pat Wayne Our May Cars & Coffee meeting was a huge success with over 25 cars. The Corvettes were there in force with 10 showing up. The weather was a little bit chilly, but the hot coffee and donuts made it bearable. Rocky Shaw drove up in his great looking e-trike. It attracted a lot of attention. June should bring warmer weather which means car show weather is near. Rocky Shaw and his wife, Lisa, and my wife, Pam, and I had the opportunity to attend the Annual Seal Beach Car Show on April 29. If you have never been, it's a can't-miss show with over 650 cars, trucks, and hot rods, lining Main Street. The two local car shows coming up are: 1. Saturday, June 10: Summerfield of Redlands is hosting a car show and BBQ, from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and sodas for all participants. A DJ will play music, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given. No registration is required. If you would like to participate, please let me or Rick know. 2. Saturday, June 17: The Lakes Assisted Living in Banning will be hosting a car show. I will provide additional information when it is available. I haven't spoken to Cindy Graves about our Fourth of July parade, but I am sure that it is on the calendar. I will provide additional information when it becomes available. We meet the first Saturday of each and every month at 9 am at The Lodge parking lot. Our next meeting will be Saturday, June 3. Please join us for some hot coffee and donuts.
