Here comes the parade!
An exciting summer event at The Colony is the Patriotic Pup,
Car, and Golf Cart Parade, which this year is on Saturday, July
1. The date for this fun and festive parade is picked to coincide
with the weekend celebration of the country's independence
and has become a favorite. There will be decorated pups,
cars, and golf carts decked out in patriotic colors and themes
and with enterprising residents incorporating dog-themed
decorations to honor man's best friend. As the parade winds its
way through the community, residents line the streets to cheer
on the participants and take in the festive atmosphere. After
the parade, participants continue socializing while enjoying
margaritas and a Colony favorite, the taco truck.
So, decorate those cars, carts and pets — and yourselves too!
(if you're so inclined) — and meet at the Clubhouse parking
lot on July 1 at 4 pm for the judging. The parade starts at 5 pm.
