| THE COLONY NEWS | JUNE 2023 | 35
We had three new people in our April class. We painted pansies and from the picture you can see how well everyone did. Some did
not quite finish but enjoyed the class. We are looking forward to our May workshop with Bob Straubinger of the Hemet of the Valley Art
Association. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in class. Keep painting!

Our artist for June is Guy Johnson. This will be Guy's sixth
time presenting his artwork in the Clubhouse Lobby. Guy has
been a photographer for more than 50 years, and his specialty is
black and white, with some color photography. He photographs
patterns, scenery and sometimes people. Many of his award-
winning photographs have been converted from film to digital.
In 2021, he began working on making a crossword puzzle to
be submitted to the New York Times, and he is also a published
author. His book, Remotely Funny, is for sale on Amazon, under
his own name, and he has another book in the works.
Guy stays busy with photography, crossword puzzle-making
and writing. This gifted artist has been very generous in sharing
his artwork with The Colony. Thank you, Guy!
