Our wonderful secretary, Karen Nichols, who usually writes the
RC article each month, is taking some time off for an exciting and
restful vacation cruising along the coast of Italy and visiting the
Greek Islands. I'll try my best to fill in for her.
Our June Paddle Tennis Tournament winners were Colleen
Ray and Rob Chandler. Our hosts were the "Ray Team," Colleen
and Bruce, who provided us with a variety of fruits, drinks,
and decadent but delicious goodies. Everyone had a great time
playing, watching, and cheering each other on. Our tournaments
are held on the first Friday of each month beginning 7:30 to 8 am
and are open to anyone to come and watch, eat and hang out.
More residents are becoming interested in playing tennis. Our
Colony tennis guru, John Knitter, has done a magnificent job in
recruiting new players and organizing matches for all levels of
play. He is always willing to help anyone with their tennis game.
If you are interested in tennis, give him a call at 951-805-2456 or
stop by the courts; he spends a good deal of time there.
Our RC dinner in May, along with the potluck luncheon, was
hosted by Kris Smith and Gay Harter. The theme for both was
"Kentucky Derby," and many of the ladies wore the traditional
hats adorned with flowers. The decorations were terrific, the food
tasty, and the entertainment of our own Colony "Doo Wops" had
us all singing, clapping, and swaying to the music. It was great to
have them back.
Enjoy the warmer weather. We hope to see you at the courts.
