| THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2023 | 5 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: MAY 18, 2023 Highlights as presented are a condensed preliminary dra until, aer review and approval by the Board at the next meeting, the minutes become official. Changes may occur. A complete copy is available in the HOA Office. Age Verification Volunteers: Thanked all volunteers for the efficient and commendable job. Special thanks to leaders Wendell Jackson, Glenn Gerber and Shirley Leidenfrost. Residents who have not yet registered can see Katie Burchard in the office. Deadline to register is July 1st. Golf Course Update: The course made a small profit in April and will not ask the HOA to subsidize them in May. They are interviewing for a professional Golf Course Superintendent. Recently Adopted Golf Cart Rule: The recently adopted amendment to the golf cart rule is being re-evaluated by the Board. More details to come. Violations Correspondence: Recently amended to give homeowners the option to pay their fine in lieu of appearing at a Violations Hearing. Pool and Spas Concrete Replacement Project Update: Project is going well. Board is considering the replacement of pool furniture. Activities Director will provide pricing for Board consideration. Approval of the March 2023 Treasurer's Report: Approved as presented. Total Operating and Reserve Liabilities and Equity: $5,552,000. Write Off of Outstanding Receivable Account: Approved writing off outstanding Insurance Receivable of $5,608. The matter has been settled. 15.6 Gazebos, Arbors, Pergolas, Final Adoption: Approved adoption of amendments. Final rule notice will be mailed to the membership. Clubhouse Cameras: Approved TVC proposal to install additional cameras in various areas of the Clubhouse in the amount of $1,732.09. Flashing Lights Around Speed Limit Signs: Authorized Access Control & Safety Advisory Committee to research flashing speed limit signs for the community. Permission to Hold a Women's SB&R Golf Banquet in Auditorium: Approved Women's SB&R Golf League holding their annual banquet in Clubhouse Auditorium on Dec. 7, 2023. HENXP Project Management Services: Approved HENXP (Jake Henricksen) Project Management Services proposal to provide oversight and consulting for Clubhouse lighting retrofit, exterior pole and light fixture and theatrical lighting projects in the amount of $4,900. Clubhouse Lighting Retrofit, Exterior Pole and Light Fixture and eatrical Lighting Projects: Approved adding emergency item to the agenda and approved Sound Image to perform the projects in the amount of $93,729.31 plus a $9,500 contingency. Tent Rental for Memorial Day Party: Approved adding an emergency item to the agenda and approved All-Occasion Rentals proposal to rent a large tent and generator for Memorial Day party in the amount of $3,238. Foreclosure Hearing Results – Hot Off the Press! The court ruled to uphold the HOA's Performance Deed of Trust and placed a value of $2,750,000 on the document. If Majestic Asset Management wants to redeem the golf course, they would need to pay this amount. The Board is anticipating that Majestic will appeal this ruling.
