As you probably know, these articles for the Breeze are due the sixth of the month before the Breeze is published. As I write this article on the evening of May 31 for the July Breeze, I realize that tomorrow is the first Thursday of June. The day of the e-Bike ride and rain is guaranteed. It's been months since we have had good weather on the e-Bike ride day. However, I refuse to give up. If you are an e-Bike member and just want to go for a ride, send a text to the members and suggest a time and place to meet. If the weather won't cooperate, we will just work around it. Not a member? While we intend to ride the first Thursday of July, meeting on July 6, I expect it to be cold, raining or both. We meet at 11:30 am at The Summit. For more information or to join, please email me or call (801) 815-5302. ~ Steve Cooley e-Bike Club June had some unusually cool weather but July should provide us with our usual hot summer weather. As you are reading this in July, there is a very good chance that we have changed the starting time of this activity to 8 am on Mondays and Saturdays to help avoid the heat. A great way to start getting some fresh air, exercise, and socialization is to come out and play shuffleboard. We play at the new shuffleboard courts at The Lodge, which are located behind the swimming pool and next to the paddle tennis courts. We now enjoy our own quiet and somewhat shaded area in which to play. Shuffleboard is an easy game to learn and anyone can quickly become proficient at this game. Our games usually last about an hour and we choose up different teams each time we play. This allows us to keep the competition challenging and the games interesting. We play for fun, but, of course, everyone likes to win. We have no losers, only non-winners. We have a great core group of residents who play regularly, but we are always looking for new players. So if anyone is interested in joining a fun activity, please just show up on a Monday and/or Saturday morning. We will give you an introduction to shuffleboard if you have never played before, or a refresher if you have played before.
