| OHCC LIVING | JULY 2023 | 9 "Let's meet at the park!" How many of us remember saying this in the "good old days?" Of course, all of Ocean Hills Country Club is park- like, but this particular park on the west side of Leisure Village Way between Athos on your le, coming from the Clubhouse, and Andros, on your right, has gotten a lot of attention in the last two years. is park has become home to the Monarch Butterflies thanks to the Monarch Butterfly Club. Now that more people are visiting this park, your Landscape Committee has been working hard to ensure the beauty of this park and help the Monarch Butterflies at the same time. In keeping with our new policy, there will soon be more butterfly and bee friendly plants planted outside of the gated butterfly sanctuary. ere will be Ceanothus, Cleveland Sage, and Ribes planted. Not particularly butterfly-friendly, but colorful, there will be crawling Bouganvilla planted to cover some exposed irrigation pipes. So, be sure to meet your friends at the park, or walk your dog there and say hello to the "Butterfly Park" volunteers who are usually there, tending the sanctuary. Landscape Committee On May 18, the Committee presented its recommendation to the Master Board for renovation of the Casa restrooms. is is in conjunction with the Golf Course Committee's proposal to renovate the Casa. Tile samples were provided and reviewed. Residents have an opportunity to view and comment on the proposed tile samples currently on display in the Clubhouse Galleria. Comment cards are provided. e IMC met for our monthly meeting on May 31. We discussed ideas for gathering information from new residents to help understand how they perceive the Community. Plans will be explored on how best to obtain resident input with the approval of the Master Board. e Committee reviewed ideas for improvements to the Clubhouse interior and the upcoming 40th Anniversary celebration and book planned for May 2024. Committee members will work to support management staff and others in the production of the book and planned events. e IMC continues to work on enhancing our website (public and private) to elevate the user experience. Other projects on the horizon are: front entry landscape consistency, back gate upgrades, new resident packets, holiday decor, and enhancing all resident communications vehicles and marketing communications. In addition to working with clubs and committees upon request, we also work closely with Property Management to enhance and improve our Community image to ensure consistency of our message and protect home values.
