| OHCC LIVING | JULY 2023 | 7 In a world where community safety is paramount, we must recognize the importance of abiding by the rules and regulations when entering our community. is community is made up of people with homes. For many, it's a sanctuary that provides us peace and comfort. To maintain this environment, it is crucial that we adhere to the rules established for living in the community. is month we documented 25 citations for guests and other personnel not authorized to park in the Clubhouse parking lot. e Clubhouse parking lot is for residents only. Your guests and visitors can park in the overflow parking lot adjacent to the dog park and Inspiration Hill. Repeat offenders of this regulation can result in a fine. e only exception is for vehicles with visibly handicapped placards. We also documented 19 drivers not making complete stops at stop signs. e DMV defines a complete stop as when the vehicle is traveling at 0 miles per hour. "California stops" are not acceptable and can result in a fine. When you are driving, please remember that while it may take an extra minute or two, stopping at the stop signs in our community makes the community safer. Let's ensure we think of the other residents that live here and create a culture of safe driving practices. In an effort to reduce stop sign violators, we submitted a proposal to the Master Board to utilize trail cameras at intersections where we witness multiple stop sign violations. e Board approved our proposal and we are excited to announce the imminent implementation of trail cameras as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance community safety. We are still in the planning stages but once that is complete, we will send out an email blast to residents when we begin utilizing this new technology. ese cameras have proven to be an effective tool in reducing the number of stop sign violators. It is important to note that we are utilizing this technology solely for addressing egregious violations of traffic rules, particularly those related to stop signs. e purpose is not to invade privacy or infringe upon individual rights. By strategically placing these trail cameras at key intersections, we aim to discourage reckless driving behaviors and ensure the safety of all residents and pedestrians. Your cooperation in obeying traffic laws is greatly appreciated as we work together to create a safer community for everyone. As I mentioned, my goal is to be transparent about the procedures and strategies we utilize to address safety concerns here at OHCC. If you have any questions about the technology we will be utilizing or our procedures regarding camera implementation, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you have a concern that you would like to be raised in another issue of Living magazine, contact me via email or by phone. My office at the front gate is always open for residents of Ocean Hills Country Club. ~ Josh Robinson, Director of Community Patrol Services, Joshua.Robinson@securitasinc.com, (760) 758-7111 ext. 250 or (760) 505-2146 Community Patrol Services
