| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2023 | 45 Caregiver Support Group Happy Fourth of July Sun Lakers! I hope to see each of you at the golf cart parade here in Sun Lakes. This year's theme is Let Freedom Ring. Come in your golf cart or bring a comfy chair and watch the creatively decorated carts go by. It's always a fun filled morning. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., July 20 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time to share, if you choose to, and learn. This program is open to ALL CAREGIVERS and is a free program. It is open to anyone caring for another person. Come see what we are all about. We also have a program in the Arts and Craft room where you can leave your loved one while you attend the meeting. We have live entertainment. Last month Paul Alloway entertained. Thank you, Paul for filling in as our scheduled entertainers (Kahula Lei Lani) had to reschedule for August. We play games, do Tai Chi exercises with Shelly Braatz and sometimes just visit. No one is forced to participate. Our loving staff will do whatever makes your loved one happy. In July our entertainers will be the groups Fusion and Pizzazz. A very special thank you to Susan Brown, who is always there to help in our group when we need her. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Care, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane at (951) 769-0130, Doug at (360) 840- 5559 or me, Anne, at (951) 845-8700. Remember, we are here to help. 10 WAYS TO MANAGE STRESS AND BE A HEALTHIER CAREGIVER #8 MAKE LEGAL AND FINANCIAL PLANS. Putting legal and financial plans in place after an Alzheimer's diagnosis allows the person living with the disease to participate in decision-making. Having these plans in place can provide comfort to the entire family. Many documents, including advance directives, can be prepared without the help of a legal professional. However, if you're unsure about how to complete documents or make financial plans, you may want to seek assistance from an attorney specializing in elder law, a financial advisor who is familiar with elder or long- term care planning, or both. More to come next month.
