36 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JULY 2023 | HIGH NOTES FROM KARAOKE Patriotic and Fourth of July songs have become more and more a thing of the past. We hear fewer patriotic songs as the years move forward. We usually fall back on the new American anthem lee Greenwood's God Bless e USA and then nothing else, sadly. I decided that this month's Fourth of July's article should be about many of our American states that have songs that have actually been hits on the national music charts. Here's a few I listed from memory. We will be in The Oakmont Clubhouse on Fri., July 21 starting with a potluck at 5:30 pm and singing at 6 pm. As usual, we will continue to save a warm, disinfected microphone ready for you.
