| OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2023 | 29 In the Sewing Club room at our Clubhouse, there are many surprises. Our cupboards, drawers, and closet are packed with items for our members' use in your projects. ere are sewing machines, sergers, notions, fabrics and yarn, and almost all of the necessary "tools of the trade" required to get your projects going. While everything is available to our residents for their use, we do request that if you would like to use the machines, you attend one of our free "Meet the Machines" classes. ese classes are offered several times during the year and help to ensure that our equipment remains in healthy working order for everyone's enjoyment. When someone downsizes or moves on to another cra, they sometimes drop off items they no longer need or find useful. ese items are le in our "free" box located in the room on one of the tables, and you are invited to take what you can use. When there are items donated that do not find a home easily, they are passed on to Carlsbad High School's fashion design program. e teacher there is also involved in our local college's theater arts program, so our "trash" is another's "treasure." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured, and help to keep us in touch. If you are interested in participating in our activities and are not sure who to reach out to for further information, please call MaryLu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for more information.
