| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2023 | 9 By Michele Walter, crystalwater@dc.rr.com At the time of this writing, our July Homeless Awareness presentation has not been held yet. If you did not attend this presentation, you can still get all the information that was given by our panel of experts on Channel 97 or by going to the Sun Lakes Website under Community Awareness and watch the video there. I want to make our residents aware that people who are out for a walk are NOT allowed on the golf course. Only persons 16 years of age and older may operate a golf cart. Golf carts not licensed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles must be parked in areas designated for golf cart parking. Golf carts are not to be driven or parked on sidewalks, walkways, entrance areas or near pool and spa areas. Another area of concern that has been brought up, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, scooters (i.e. Razors) or electric scooters are prohibited within the common areas of our community, including all golf course property, (CC&Rs Article IV 4.02-9). We want to keep our community safe. Please slow down and stop at all stop signs. This goes for automobiles, golf carts, and bikes. The Master Board just ordered 100 new stop signs and 50 speed limit signs. Please make sure you abide by these speed limit signs for your safety and the safety of everyone else. We have seen an increase in presence from our Banning Police Department. They are patrolling more often at different times of the day and night. Community Awareness Program SAFETY AND SECURITY TIPS Crime prevention tips while you're out and about Travel Light • Carry as few cards as possible in your wallet – that goes for identity cards and credit cards alike.
