42 | LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2023 |
Pickleball continues to be the "hottest"
– and fastest growing sport – in the United
States. The Solera Pickleball Paddlers play
Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday mornings.
For summer hours, we begin around 7:30ish,
but feel free to come any time between 7:30
and 9:30ish. Introduction to the sport is
offered to all new players. Come hit the ball
around a bit and see if this game is right for
you. We have paddles to use if you don't have
one.
If you prefer to use the courts on your own
time/schedule, please keep in mind that the
Solera tennis players have the courts reserved
on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
Afternoons, evenings and all day on
Sunday, the courts are "first come, first serve."
They are lighted for evening play. You'll need
to provide your own balls during these times.
You may also want to consider indoor
pickleball during these hot summer
months. The Chatigny Recreation Center
(also known as the Senior Center) at 1310
Oak Valley Parkway offers pickleball on
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays from 11
am to 1 pm; Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm, and
Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm. All levels of
players welcome. Please check their schedule
online, as these days/times sometimes
change due to other events they schedule.
