Enjoy meeting new people? Like to talk about our beautiful community and all its amenities? Consider joining our SDV Welcome Committee. e committee was first formed by the SDV HOA Board of Directors in January 2019 as an ad-hoc committee. e Welcome Committee was officially chartered by the SDV HOA Board of Directors January 1, 2020. Even during COVID, the committee set up procedures to welcome new residents while staying within health and governmental mandates and guidelines. e purpose is to make new residents feel welcome and ensure that they understand how the community works and are aware of the many aspects and benefits of being a resident. We strive to provide new residents with information they need to become easily integrated into our community as well as the City of Hemet. In addition to a tour of our Lodge, sports courts/pools, parks and paseo, items such as events, Sue's Blast, HOA Blast etc. are included. e new resident is given a nice tote bag containing a welcome packet of information, a copy of the View etc. Also, New Resident Mixers are held approximately three times a year to provide more information and for new residents to meet each other as well as committees and clubs. e committee can have up to 11 members who each serve two- year terms and meet once a month on the third ursday at 10 am at the Lodge. As the committee chairperson receives notice of new residents, committee members are assigned new resident visitations. To be considered for membership on the committee, complete a Volunteer Interest Form (VIF) found at the Lodge across from the entrance to the gym, then turn it in at the concierge desk. If you have further questions, call or text DiAnne Mangis, chairperson, at (951) 385-3022.
