Ladies Putters
Now that the weather is getting warmer, we would love to see more
gals join our Ladies Putter Group. On Mondays at 4 pm, we play one
round of 9 holes. On Friday at 9 am, we play two rounds. Some gals
come out both days and some only come out for one day, whatever
fits their schedule. On play days, after everyone has completed their
round(s), we all compete in a fun competition we call, "Closest to the
Pin, WITHOUT Going In." Simply put, one of the players who has
scored a hole-in-one that day, picks a hole and we measure 35 feet
from that hole. We each get one putt and, as the name implies, the
goal is to get as close to the designated hole as possible without going
in and the one whose putt is the closest that day, records the date,
their name and measurement. This is just one of the categories we
give an award for when we hold our Bi-Annual Awards Potluck. A
few weeks ago, one of our members, Sue Barker, scored a hole-in-
one during our Closest to the Pin competition, but per the rule, it
was good news, bad news for Sue… great putt, but she was out of
that day's competition. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "tomorrow is another
day." So, come on out and join us for a low impact, very social activity.
No experience is necessary and we can provide a putter and ball if
you don't have one. For more information, please contact Bonnie
Brown at (951) 337-0833 or Elaine Brown at (626) 589-9791. ~
