FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2023 9 From the Activities Director By Cindy Graves How is the summer nearly over? Oh well, the best is yet to come starting with the "Moonlight Movies at the Amphitheater" on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 8 pm. The movie will be Supermensch: e Legend of Shep Gordon. Everyone is invited and there is no fee for admittance. I'm even going to take the industrial popcorn maker out there for an additional evening treat. Speaking of treats, we will be having a "door-less prize" give-away, so you don't want to miss that! The next event is the "Gail-Games, Match Game" on Friday, Aug. 4 at 6 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. Come on down and play with your table to try to match answers with our Four Seasons celebrities. Gail will keep you in stitches and at the end of the evening there are prizes for the winners. Feel free to bring your food and favorite beverages. For you folks that enjoy doing crafts and have noticed the lovely colorful lotus lamps around the facilities, resident Kilja Larsen is offering a free lotus lantern class on Monday, Aug. 7 at 1 pm in The Lodge. There is a sign-up sheet on the credenza in the Lobby, open to the first 25 people. Thank you so much Kilja! Mark your calendars: Friday, Aug. 11 for a little mini-vacation to the "Four Seasons Tropics" as we welcome the popular Steel Drum Band for the next summer Loggia concert and dance party. The doors open at 4:45 pm and the Bistro will be offering a tropical buffet starting at 5 pm. The band and dancing starts at 5:30 pm. Be sure to bring your favorite beverages and wear your Hawaiian shirts and mumus. More info to come on the Activities Blast. Sunday, Aug.13 is the Amphitheater Woodstock Concert. This is going to be quite the event with Four Seasons version of Woodstock. All the music you remember will be there including selections from Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Grace Slick, Santana, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jethro Tull and more! Be sure to dress up and bring your party paraphernalia. If you'd like to share the bitchin' pictures of you during the Woodstock era with everyone, send them to me (cindy. graves@fsresidential.com) and we'll add them to our resident slide- show during the concert. The concert starts at 7 pm and you are welcome to put your lawn chair down anytime on the day of the concert. The Travel Club is presenting "Welcome to Hollywood" with a delicious catered dinner, dancing, and live entertainment on Friday, Aug. 18. This elegant affair is only $50 per ticket and will be a special evening to remember. Dressing up as your favorite Hollywood Movie Star is encouraged and there will be prizes for the best dressed. Doors open at 4:45 pm. Karaoke will take place on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 5:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. DJ Dave always does a great job running the event and everyone who goes, enjoys both the incredible talent showcased in song as well as the great camaraderie from all the neighbors. Come on down and give a listen or get your nerves up and try a song yourself! You'll be cheered and supported for the attempt. Finally the Performing Arts Club will be holding their Live Radio Show on Saturday, Aug. 26. The two shows include, "Gun Smoke: Potato Road" and "Gracy's Baby Turkey." They're always hilarious and you can't beat the fee for admission — free! The doors open at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 6 pm. See you there and have a super great August!
