12 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2023 BUSY BEE SPOTLIGHT Entertaining (in public) was not in Gail Lindeboom's background. She says that living in this community has allowed her to become her authentic self — an entertaining emcee! Her award this year at the Volunteer Appreciation event as the first annual "Entertainer of the Year" was a decision by acclamation. Most of you know her as "Gail's Games" Gail and "Bistro Bingo Night" Gail. It took several years of living here, trying out everything, going to club and committee meetings, and dancing at every dance class before starting her very own successful game show franchise. But when Cindy Graves asked her to sit on a panel for a game, she was not only enthusiastic, but decided that she could do this and have a lot of fun with it. And the rest is Four Seasons Beaumont history. Gail makes us think and makes us laugh playing old game show games such as Majority Rules, Password, Match Game, Trivial Pursuit, and now the Newlywed/Oldywed show. Gail has even gone out to Four Seasons Palm Springs and entertained that community a couple times at the invitation of Nelly, who used to be here at Beaumont. Gail's wife, business manager, and production assistant, Micki Rosen, may have to start drawing up contracts as she's been approached by someone outside the Four Seasons communities to put on shows in other 55 and older communities in the desert. The way word is spreading, her hope is an invitation to host the Oscars sometime in the future. Gail started Bingo Night at the Bistro to help attract diners back after COVID. The events are always well attended and have developed a life of their own with Knuckleheads and Barn Owls, animal sound effects, and just a lot of fun. Gail and Micki moved to Four Seasons from West Hollywood in 2012. Both had worked at Paramount Pictures for many years — but not as talent. They fell in love with the community and enjoyed the activities and felt the need to give back to the community they cared so much about. They believe in tenets of Judaism directing us to "give back" and "heal the world." When asked what she would say to someone considering moving here, her reply, "It's not what you think. It is a beautiful, wonderfully diverse community of people that has an important thing in common — we're all over 55 and aging together, supporting each other." ~ Rhonda Louden Authentically Entertaining ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR: Gail Lindeboom gives back to the community with good, old-fashioned fun
