50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2023
We are stepping outside our comfort zone and
trying something new for August. Champagne
is a white sparkling wine that is associated with
celebration and regarded as a symbol of luxury,
typically from the Champagne region of France.
Join us for our August meeting as we explore
Champagnes, or as some may know it, sparkling wines. These wines
might just be the most technical of all the wines in the world. The
reason most sparkling wine is so complex is because of the need for
two fermentations: one for the wine and one for the bubbles.
Wine Club member Tom DePaola will guide us through four
different sparkling wines. Learn about the process, styles, and the
all-important bubble size.
We will be joined this evening by Major Marlo
Fleck, United States Air Force Reserve. Major Fleck
graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2008. She
went on to pilot training and graduated in 2010. She
has been stationed stateside and in Okinawa, Japan.
She finished her active duty commitment in 2020 and
is currently a reserve officer stationed out of March Air Reserve Base.
When she is not flying for the Air Force, she is flying for American
Airlines.
Come join us for some special sparkling wines and an insight from
a woman pilot.
Unfortunately, we will not be providing caviar. ~ Gino Domico,

Four Seasons Singers
We are getting ready to start the Four Seasons Singers on Monday, Sept. 11 after our pandemic hiatus. Please start to show up after 3 pm,
but be ready to sing by 3:15 pm. Since it is only one month before rehearsals begin, please practice diaphragm breathing. Singing out loud –
even in the shower or with the car radio – is encouraged! If you haven't contacted me, please just come to the Ballroom for our first rehearsal.
If you would like to join the Singers, would like to be included in my email list, or if you have questions about the Four Seasons Singers, call
(951) 797-3466 or email me at bawasco@dc.rr.com. ~ Barbara Wasco
Classical Music Club
We are classical music lovers with an interest in sharing our love of, knowledge about, and interest in classical music. We meet on the second
Thursday of each month at 7 pm in The Lodge Theater. We listen to and watch musical selections on the big screen. Each month we focus on a
particular work or several selections of one composer. We also discuss current musical performances in the area. We welcome new members.

As I write this article, it is only 23 weeks until our Handbell Christmas
concert, Dec. 14, and only a few weeks until we start to practice, Aug. 23.
Are you interested in joining us? Can you read and count music? Are you
available on Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 3:30 pm? If the answer to
these questions is yes, then we would love to see you.
