Our goal is to provide entertainment that is funny, fun, meaningful, unusual, exciting, educational, and thought- provoking. Sally Benton's Encore Players usually meet Wednesdays at 1 pm in the Mykonos Room. e classes are on hiatus until Sept. 13. To learn new techniques and/or brush up on old ones, please contact Sally (moki2@cox.net) for information. is fall we are excited to host the National Digital Photo Academy of San Diego. is organization specializes in teaching digital photography. ey are preparing an amazing array of digital photos of San Diego County, including sunrises, sunsets, flowers, nature, wildlife, architecture, and street portraits. In October, we are proud to present the San Diego Youth Symphony. e symphony offers student musicians of various skill levels the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency for receptive audiences in a variety of locations throughout Southern California. ey are currently preparing to perform at Carnegie Hall next Summer, and we anticipate having them join us again in the spring, as well. Also, this November, we have singer Francesca Amari joining us! Francesca is a versatile singer/cabaret artist from Palm Springs, CA. Francesca performs regularly as a jazz/pop singer or with her "Cocktails & Cabaret" show. She has performed at top-rated cabaret clubs from New York to Hollywood and has earned rave reviews for her entertaining shows. Escondido student theater group, Center Stage Productions, is working on another presentation for our group. Don't forget to mark your calendars… we look forward to seeing you the first Monday in September! Our next regular Board meeting will be held Sept. 20, at 11 am, in a room to be assigned. Regular Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am, and are open to all eatre Arts members, so please do come and join us. Join eatre Arts so you can participate in all of our entertainment and activities. Our annual dues are $12. Make your check payable to "OH eatre Arts" and bring it to the front desk. Include your name, address, email, and phone number on the check. We are delighted that our final show for the year, e Jersey Tenors, will be presented on Sat., Nov. 4, at 7:30 pm. e Jersey Tenors create an explosive blend of iconic Opera classics alongside Rock 'N Roll greats like Queen, Elton John, and Bon Jovi. ey are also Jersey Proud, and they do not forget some of Jersey's finest like Frankie Valli and e Four Seasons, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Kool and e Gang, and Jersey Girl Whitney Houston! Tickets will go on sale on Tues., Oct. 3, in Abravanel Hall at 7:30 am. Each ticket is $30, and each resident may purchase two tickets. Tickets will also be on sale at the Concierge Desk on Tues., Oct. 3, through Fri., Oct. 6, from 10 am to 2 pm, when residents may then purchase as many tickets as they want. Other than these dates and times, tickets may also be purchased from the staff at the Clubhouse front desk. Our first show for 2024 will be e Bachelors of Broadway on Sat., Feb. 24 at 7:30 pm.
