Village Vets
At our Village Vets General meeting on July 27, we had a visit from the
Veteran's Administration. ey came to present an award to our World
War II veteran Arthur Levine on his 100th birthday. Arthur's daughter
Pat gave us all a little insight into his amazing life. We felt honored to have
Arthur as a member of our club.
Our speaker for urs., Sept. 28 at 3 pm in Abravanel Hall will be Mike
Welch, an OHCC resident, with fantastic life experiences. Mike will be
focusing his talk on his seven years as a Flight Test Engineer at the Air
Force Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Refreshments will
be served.
Elections for Village Vet's Club Board members were held during our
September meeting. Results will be posted on our next Bugle publication.
We are looking for some volunteers in planning our Village Vets Holiday
Party on Dec. 9. If you would like help, please contact Greg Coffey at (760)
295-6061.
Our next meeting will be at Abravanel Hall on Nov. 11 at 11 am to
celebrate our annual Veteran's Day. Everyone is invited, and of course
it will be hosted by Donna Russell. Our guest speaker will be Retired
Marine Lt. Colonel Eddie Utuk. Eddie has 25 years of military experience
and will share some of it with us. You won't want to miss this event. Please
note there will be no scheduled Village Vets General meeting in October.
