Caregiver Support Group
Stroke Recovery Support Group
Happy September! We are certainly having
a hot summer. Maybe the Ice Cream Social in
the Restaurant on Sept. 11 at 2 pm will help
cool us off. The sundaes are three dollars for
three scoops of ice cream and your choice of
fixings.
Our next meeting and support group
is Thurs., Sept. 21 at 10 am in the Main
Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There
is no guest speaker this month. This will
give each of you more time to share. This
program is open to ALL CAREGIVERS,
and it is free. We also have a program in
the Arts & Crafts Room, where we care for
your loved one; don't leave him or her at
home. We offer live entertainment, games,
exercise, and just plain fun. No one is forced
to participate. Last month, the Kahula Lei
Lani dancers performed. Thank you Olga
Marquette, Kathy Reynolds, and Penny Skog.
Your dances are amazing! This month Paul
Alloway returns. As you can see we have
GREAT entertainment for your loved one.
Please note we have a change in phone
numbers. If you have any questions, would
like to learn more about Memory Loss, or
would like reading material that we can loan
you, call Diane at (951) 765 7460, Doug at
(360) 840-5559 or me, Anne, at (951) 845-
8700. Remember, we are here to help.
10 WAYS TO MANAGE STRESS AND BE A
HEALTHIER CAREGIVER
#10 VISIT YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY:
Take time to get regular checkups and
pay attention to any exhaustion, stress,
sleeplessness, or changes in appetite or
behavior. Ignoring symptoms can cause your
physical and mental health to decline. More
to come next month.
This newly formed group is designed to reach out to recovering stroke victims. We plan to meet to share our stories of varying degrees of
success, a sense of being understood and of optimism for the future. We meet Sundays from 12 to 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose
Room. Call Barbara Searcy for more information at (951) 663-3382.
