Sign ups for the September event will be held on Sept. 7 at the South Clubhouse beginning at 3:30 pm. Meal selection will be made at the time you sign-up. Please note the dinner price for members is $30 and $32 for guests. If you miss the Sept. 7 date to sign up and want to attend the dinner and dance, contact Donna Leone at (951) 797-0832 no later than the following Sunday afternoon. If you are unable to attend the event after signing up, you can request a take-out meal box. Contact Ann Hoefert no later than 2 pm on the day of the event at (909) 553-3292 and she will make arrangements for you to pick up your meal in the Bus Room at 6:15 pm on the night of the event. Since we have passed the halfway point in the year, membership dues for the remainder of 2023 are $12.50 per person and new members are always welcome. Are you new to Sun Lakes or a long-time resident and would like to attend one of our events to find out what our monthly dinner and dances are like? We have a try-before-you- buy opportunity available to Sun Lakes residents who have not been members in the past. Previous members do not qualify for this try-before-you-buy opportunity. So give the ICC Dinner Dance Club a try; you will find members to be a friendly group of people who enjoy socializing, dining and dancing to live music each month. For more information about the club, contact Evelyn Hawkins at (951) 845-7199, Martie Steggell at (951) 769-3217 or Donna Leone at (951) 797-0832. ICC Dinner Dance Club Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers Activities Day is Sept. 23. Please stop by our table and greet us with "Aloha." In Hawaii, Aloha means more than 'hello;' it expresses wishes for a positive and respectful life. Use Aloha kakahiaka to say, 'good morning,' Aloha auinal for 'good afternoon' and Aloha ahiahi for 'good evening'. ~ Google Makua Hula dancers continue to amaze audiences with stellar performances. Most recently, the Makua dancers performed at the Beaumont Presbyterian Church Hawaiian-themed potluck. The audience enjoyed the hula choreographed dances of Walk To Paradise, Welcome To My World, Nohili E, and Song of Old Hawaii. Solos for the event included Blue Hawaii, Lei Lani, Maile Lei, and Can't Help Falling in Love. The Makua Hula dancers concluded the evening with God Bless America which brought the audience to their feet along with tears of pride and joy to their eyes. It was a beautiful way to end the event. Anyone interested in learning more about Hawaiian Hula dancing are welcomed to join the Makua Hula Dancers every Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm in the North Clubhouse. No previous dance experience is necessary. If you are interested in having the Makua Hula dancers perform for your event, or would like more information about our group, contact Perla Williams at (951) 467- 8339 or pearlyshellsdancer@gmail.com.
