62 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2023 |
Here it is September and we're getting close to our
next journey as a club. At this writing, there were 16
members who have signed up for our trip to Hemet.
Hopefully between now and the printing of this
magazine, we will have filled all 26 spaces. I know
it's only 25-30 minutes down the road, yes you can
stay here at Sun Lakes, but by going to Hemet, there will
be the camaraderie, the games, golf, and a change of scenery —
even if it is for a week. It promises to be lots of fun and enjoyment,
there is a car museum at Motte's Romalia Farms, Temecula Wineries,
Historic Hemet Theater, and if you were to go in a day early, a CCR
tribute band playing there, the Western Science Center, and whatever
you want to do on your own.
There's not much to report as the club has not made any trips
to report on, however, I'd like to take this opportunity to make
sure everyone is aware and has taken precautions regarding the
damage and thefts that have taken place at the RV storage yard. It is
recommended to remove the batteries from the trailers, along with
portable generators. I know that Sun Lakes is looking into updating
the security cameras for safety.
Looking forward, we have the Fall Rally to Emerald Desert in
Palm Desert, which is from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1. Bonnie Aulwes and
Gary Balcom are the trail bosses. They will need volunteers to help
organize.
Don't forget our Christmas Party at the South
Clubhouse, on Dec. 10 from 5 to 8 pm, with the set-
up at 4 pm. Sandy and Richard Alexanian will be
organizing, and will need volunteers to help out.
September birthday wishes go out to Gary Balcom
